Take your health into your own hands and get great results.

Become your own advocate and see great results in your health. Don't just trust some doctor to make you well. You can do your own research on the internet and apply what you learn with great results. You know that I'm always talking about the power of a plant based diet. It's truly the foundation to heal and prevent any disease.  If you do choose a doctor, have one that is open minded and aware like this gentleman.

This is an amazing story indeed....

Dave DeBronkart was diagnosed in January 2007 with kidney cancer at a very late stage.  The odds were stacked against him, with tumors in both lungs, several bones, and muscle tissue. He chose to do his own research on the internet and apply what he learned. If you want "extraordinary" results, then you will have to think in "extraordinary" ways and do "extraordinary" things.  He took 100 percent responsibility for his health and healing. He did his research, fought his cancer with wisdom and healed himself.

Exercise improves the quality of your life

If you aren't exercising regularly, this is a great time to start! Exercise is such a great way to start our day. Psychologically, you feel good because you know you have already accomplished something positive for the day. Something that's improving the quality of your life. Exercise changes us biochemically, releasing feel good endorphins. It also raises serotonin and dopamine giving you better focus and improving your mood. Many times, I don't feel like doing it but I get out and do I anyway, knowing that in about an hour afterwards, I will start feeling better and it will help me feel better the next few days too. I will sleep better that night too. When you sleep deeper, this improves hormone levels, improving overall brain function and mood.  Every time you choose to exercise no matter how small of an amount, it's a movement forward towards better health. Better health and better brain function. Regular exercise is proven to actually improve you brain and make you smarter over time through a process called "neurogenesis".  When our brain functions better, we do better. This leads to an improved ability to make better decisions. Better decisions mean we will live a better life. When we live a better life, it's not just for ourselves but for our friends and family too. It affects all who are connected to us really. This is because when we do better personally, we have more to give. More to give at work, at home, more to contribute to society in general.  When an individual reaches their highest potential in life personally, everybody wins. No one is a island unto himself. We are all connected as the human race. Great health is the foundation of it all. The first gift God gives you is your body. When we are young, many don't think about how we treat it and what we put into it in regards to food choices. As we age though, we gain wisdom to know what is good for us. We gain wisdom to know that we are responsible for our health. We can no longer blame this or that for our level of health. It's our choices that have led us to where we are now, and it's our choices that can lead us to a better place tomorrow. Health is true wealth indeed, and everyone can learn how to come up higher in this area. Everyone can learn and apply wisdom here and in doing so will receive the reward for our wisdom. The reward of a life well lived. The reward of reaching our fullest potential and accomplishing our God given purpose while here on earth. <3

You are worth it

Choose wisely the people you allow around you. They have your ear and what they say will either help you or hinder you. They will either inspire your  or discourage you... You teach people how to treat you by what you will tolerate from them. It's your responsibility to set boundaries.  When you love and value yourself enough, you will not allow people to speak to you certain ways or treat you bad because you are worth more than that.

Critics will always be a dime a dozen, especially when you choose to take your own unique path. When you choose to celebrate your authentic self. Ignore these critics.

Criticism can sometimes be constructive but it's wise to only listen when it's given from people who are qualified to speak into your life. Choose to spend your time with people who value you and believe in you. People who celebrate you, protect and nurture you.

You are worth it!

Breaking the limitations of negative thoughts and beliefs

I want you to consider something.....When you say out loud things like "I am amazing"  or "I am beautiful"  or "I am a genius"  how do you feel?  If this does not resonate with you in some way inside leaving you feeling less than these things, then this is a sign of a deeply held limiting belief you have about yourself this can be changed.  That is if it is your goal to become all that you were made to become while here on earth.  You see, we are not limited really by the outside world as much as we are by our internal world. It's our thoughts and words we say to ourselves about ourselves that have the most impact on our lives. We really are creating our own reality.  Heaven or hell can be experienced here on earth and it all begins with the way we see ourselves, others and the world around us.  See the good, say the good and receive the good.  Every day, whether we recognize it or not, we are creating our day with our thoughts and words.  So, the optimist really does get the best breaks, the best parking spot and the greatest opportunities.  In contrast, the pessimist dose face a difficult world. He has hard days and instead of the wind blowing in his favor, it blows against him.  His life could be summed up in that phrase "life's a bitch, then you die."  But to the optimist, the one that approaches life with an attitude of faith and expectancy, life and reality morphs around him to give him the wonderful things he is already believing and feeling he already has and is continuing to get.  Change your thoughts, create new positive mental habits and you will change your life. Get happy and excited because positive change is coming to your life. You are taking control of your life and by choosing to create new habit patterns of mind, you are literally re-inventing yourself and your world....

Happy hour all day everyday

Happy Hour?.......On my bike ride today I ran into a young guy at the corner while waiting for a red light. He had a Budweiser shirt on with big letters saying "Happy Hour"  I said hello to him then I said with enthusiasm "Happy Hour is right now! I don't mean alcohol, I just mean Happy Hour is now, every hour of every day!. Don't forget it and pass it on."  True story.....

So many people aren't aware of the fact or forget that we actually "create our days"  We can have happy hour, every hour of every day. Happiness is a habit pattern of mind and we can not only develop it but improve and even master it.  New neural pathways are strengthened when we think positive thoughts, laugh and smile.  If you want more happiness, think and be more happy. You have the power to become this. Our chemistry will follow our thoughts and beliefs. Ever heard of "fake it till you make it"? Well, when you act happy, you create the chemistry of happiness.

Wake up! A Plant based diet and healthy lifestyle beats man made drugs hands down for preventing and treating disease

It amazes me how so many people have been duped to believe that medication prescribed or even over the counter is safe on the human body. I just recently discovered that Advil (Ibuprofen) has been linked with dementia. I thought this drug was relatively safe my whole life. I used to pop those like candy when I was younger. Sure they FDA approves these chemicals but they really have no long term studies for these drugs. Food is the best medicine indeed.  Medicinal herbs second. This along with a healthy lifestyle including exercise and sunlight...... Why take the risk on taking man made drugs when we can change our lifestyle and eating habits and live so much better in regards to quality of life? Symptoms of disease are our intelligent bodies attempt to tell us something needs to be changed. Pain in any form is a message to us that something is out of place. To take drugs just to cover up these signals is like hitting the snooze button on our alarm clock when we really need to get up.  :) So the biggest problem people have in changing diet and lifestyle is mental. It's learning new ways to think and live and then creating new habits.  People don't decide their future, they decide their habits and their habits decide their future. Once something is done enough to become a habit, it becomes so natural for us, it becomes who we are. We transform our lives by transforming our habits and this all starts with the thoughts we stay focused on. What happens in the mind, happens in time.

Why people stay in bad relationships

The real reason or root reason why people stay in relationships that aren't healthy is because they don't value themselves, even love themselves enough. When you love and value yourself enough you will only give yourself the very best. To love and value yourself you must see yourself as you really are. Wonderful, divine, beautiful and amazing.  Never in history has there been and never again will there be one exactly like you. You are rare and valuable.  When we realize this, we will start making the best decisions for ourselves because we will learn to truly love and appreciate ourselves.  It takes a while to reprogram our brains though from all the low level toxic negative experiences and things people have said and done to us.  There are techniques though to speed the process like creative visualization and positive affirmations.  Positive self talk can do wonders.

Are you really bipolar? Many may go undiagnosed but many are over diagnosed.

So many people are given a label "Bipolar" . Yes there are some that truly have it but so many people are just given that label by a authoritative voice. Once you accept the label, you will see yourself through the eyes of your label. Be very careful what you believe about yourself and it will become a self fulfilling prophecy. That said, "Bipolar" is just a name given to describe the symptoms of having highs and lows. Many people especially artists have higher highs and lower lows than average. It's so important for creative people to learn to master their thoughts. Thoughts lead to feelings. Learning to keep your focus on positive things is paramount to overcoming depression/bipolar. That said, sometimes people do have fluctuation in their brain chemistry which has nothing to do with your focus. Many times depression/bipolar can actually be food sensitivities or hormonal issues manifesting as a mood disorder. I was personally told by a therapist that he thought I was bipolar and that I should try this new drug "Seroquel" I'm so glad I had enough wisdom to not just accept that label and to treat myself naturally. My friend is currently trying to get off Seroquel and is addicted to it. He can't sleep without it. It may have permanently damaged his brain but we are hoping for the best. I think it's wise to choose to not take these toxic drugs they prescribe. Only maybe as a very last resort after natural things are tried. I was psyche tested and it turns out I have ADHD but also struggle with a other "undiagnosed" health condition. Doc thinks it's chronic fatigue. I just went vegan though with emphasis on raw foods. I expect great results in time eating these healing plant foods. Oh and I'm a artist. I compose electronic music, paint and write. I tried prozac and other anti-depressants years ago. While on them, I lost my creative abilities in writing and composing music. This along with other horrid side effects. I'd rather use natural things to heal my body and brain rather than suffer the side effects short term and long term.

Choose your thoughts wisely because thoughts eventually become things

God gives you a memory to learn from your past. God gives you a imagination to pre-play your future. You decide what "vision of your future" you want to hold in your mind. The "vision" you decide to hold in your mind is a powerful tool in moving you towards the future you desire. Never underestimate the power of your thoughts. Choose them wisely because thoughts eventually become things.

Discover your gifts and be rewarded for them

Everybody has areas they are gifted in but many people don't even know what there greatest gifts are though. Some have discovered their greatest gifts and have become very effective in them and have been rewarded for them while others haven't. Many have overlooked their gifts and since they have not celebrated them, they have gone unrewarded for them.

Sometimes it can be hard for some to discover their greatest gifts because we generally look to others for validation.  When we don't get it, we can sometimes overlook our area of gifting. In the past, I've met people with amazing gifts that when I told them how amazing they were you could tell that they just didn't believe it. They just couldn't see it. It's possible to be blind to your own gifts and to underestimate yourself.  Since we tend to be our own worst critics. We can pick ourselves apart and even devalue ourselves.  We might do something amazingly well, but we might overlook this because it comes natural for us and is easy for us to do it. What you do with ease, others may have to struggle to do it. Others may look at us and wish they had what we have, yet we are blind to our own greatness.

When you are amazingly gifted in something, there seems to be three reasons why many people won't tell you. 1. Because they don't value your gift because it does not benefit them. (your gift will not be celebrated everywhere) 2. Because they think you already know how good you are at your gift. 3. Because they are jealous and they wish they had your gift.

You have to learn to discover your own unique gifts. Discover what it is that sets you apart. No one can do it exactly like you can do it. It's your unique gifts  that set you apart and when in the right environment, these gifts make you valuable to others who need what you have. You must go where you are celebrated, not just tolerated.

Once you discover your gifts, you have to learn to believe in yourself and your gifts. It doesn't matter what others say or think about you or your gifts. It only matters what you think and say about you. You can't expect others to believe in you if you don't believe in you. When you start to really celebrate yourself and your unique gifting, then others will begin to celebrate you too.  Something that goes uncelebrated, goes unrewarded. When you realize the true value of what you have and begin to celebrate it, you will begin to be rewarded for it.

Blessings- Rob

Cannabis helped me recover from stroke

I believe very much in Cannabis as medicine. It helped me regain my cognition after suffering a small stroke a little over two years ago which left me with memory, language, and overall cognition problems. Cannabis has been proven to stimulate neurogenesis in rats in the areas of the brain responsible for memory. It also has a positive effect on brain plasticity and is a potent anti-inflammatory and anti-depressant if used in small doses.

I first used cannabis for a one month cycle about two years ago. My depression left, I began to engage in life again. Creativity started coming back. My cognition was better while using it and so much improved after I stopped. It truly is a miracle plant in so many ways. It can bring healing to so many if respected, not abused and used in proper dose and for the right reasons. For medicinal use, I don't recommend smoking it. It's healthier to eat it like in tincture form or in edibles made with cannabis butter.

You can also juice the fan leaves and buds like you would wheat grass. If you juice it, since it's not heated, there is no high so you can take a much larger dose by drinking the juice. Even though it's not psychoactive when in it's raw form, you can get up to 600 percent more of the beneficial cannabinoids contained that are anti-inflammatory and immune regulating. So this plant has dual uses. When dried and heated it becomes psychoactive. When raw and juiced it is also medicinal helping with diseases that create inflammation and other auto-immune diseases. It truly is a miracle plant and so easy to grow.

It's ridiculous that it's still 100 percent illegal under federal law. It never should have been made illegal. God's gift of medicinal herbs should be available to all, free of charge. It's one of God's amazing blessings to man along with all other healing edible fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and medicinal herbs. I'm grateful for cannabis and all plants.......

"Then God said, "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you" Genesis 1:29

The pic at the top is a pic of a plant I grew. Please people, if you believe in Cannabis as medicine, help spread by sharing this blog post with your Facebook friends, etc.

I want to help get the word out to all who could benefit from this wonderful plant so please share.

Thanks so much and God bless you - Rob

The prescription drug pipeline that is killing Americans and so many around the world

There is a pipeline of prescription drugs being piped to the people. And the people's overall well-being is not the top priority of those pushing drugs.  The motivation behind it all is money.  In a capitalist system, the desire for profit drives new innovation, growth and change. This is good and bad. Bad to some degree when it comes to medicine though. The problem comes into play when it's about peoples health.

Let me tell you a story....

I had an opportunity to work in car sales years ago. Before you judge me, hear me out lol.  I took the job but only worked there 3 months. I have done sales very successfully for many years so I thought I would do well here. My boss told me "don't worry about the numbers, test drive with the customer, bring them in the office and I will take over."  My job was to land the customer on a car and then my boss would close the deal. Half the time I didn't know what they were doing, they didn't share. I did happen to see things that I wasn't proud of and that went against everything that I stand for. I started to realize that I was the nice shiny bait, pulling in the customer then my boss would go for the kill so to speak.  I remember things happening like a young guy buying his first new jeep. After he agreed to buy, they sent him to finance where they sold him a "lojack" system to track his jeep if it was stolen.  They tacked on another 1500 -1700 for this.  Now since the car is new, it's fully insured so if it were to get stolen, the insurance company would pay it off anyway.  It's not like he was buying a Lamborghini or other high end car, did he really need a lojack?  The answer is no, he didn't. This bothered me as it seemed to lack morality in business.  I had other instances where they fudged the numbers so they appeared on the computer screen that the dealership was only making a very small profit when they actually were lying to the customer. They would look the customer in the eye and show them the computer screen and say "we are only making 100 dollars on the deal", just to close the sale. Later they would change the numbers to reflect the true profit and would show me and laugh at the customer.  I was bothered by the fact that they cared nothing about being honest. Because we were on the same team and I was getting the commission, I felt responsible for their immoral actions.  I couldn't believe in the people who I was working with and could no longer stand to be a part of a organization that didn't have the best interest of the customer in mind. I ended up leaving.

Now I said all that to make this point.  I don't believe that their is some conspiracy where all docs are out to make money at the expense of unsuspecting people and with no regard for their true wellbeing.  There are probably some doctors that don't care but most do I believe and probably went into medicine to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

The problem is that, just like me when I was working in car sales, they are in a system that is broken to some extent.  It's money driven and this is causing a conflict as money is the motivation of big pharma and their influence on medicine has created a system where they don't really promote health or healing as much as "treating disease" with toxic drugs.  They make a lot more on treating disease than they do on curing it."  They promote "early detection" instead of "prevention". They could funnel money towards education in "prevention" but there is no money to be made here. So doctors have become the extending arm of Big Pharma. Big pharma funds the studies, manipulates the results to get their drugs approved and influences doctors from the very start of medical school.  Many doctors now dish out drugs with little regard to the possible harm that could come upon those taking the drugs. They are taught to believe in these drugs and that this is the way you practice medicine.  Doctors take a oath to "first, do no harm"  yet they are harming people with toxic drugs.  Something has to change and it is changing. I believe that many years from now, we will all look back and realize how barbaric medicine was at this time in history. That doctors were poisoning people with prescription drugs. The answer to health is not in the "new wonder drug."

The answer to health is and has always been found in food and lifestyle.

Hippocrates (the founder of modern medicine) said “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”  You can't patent food and lifestyle though so you can't make billions off of just telling people to eat their fruits and greens, get some sunlight and move your body regularly.

World famous chef Matthew Kenney speaks on how to prevent and reverse disease through a plant based diet

World famous chef Matthew Kenney says "the dinner plate is ten times more dangerous than driving a car."  He discusses the standard American diet and how it's leading us to a future filled with illness and prescription drugs which is not the best quality of life.  He proposes a plant based diet as the answer.

Genius in disguise

Some idea may seem radical at first.  It may even seem crazy. This is because it falls outside of your wisdom and world view. It's not what you are used to so it's hard to accept. But in time, you just might discover that what you thought was radical and crazy actually was genius in disguise.

Be free to be you

There comes a time in your life when you are tired of doing what others think you should do and you have the courage to do what you love and have a passion for. In your heart, you say to yourself "I really want to do this or that.",  but that voice in your head answers back "you can't do this or that" for whatever reason.  Well, that voice in your head many times is the voice of others from your past. Many times, it's the voice of fear. Fear restricts while faith liberates. Fear is a choice but so is faith. Have courage to celebrate your own unique vision and work hard to make it come to pass. When you face an obstacle, know that you will find a creative way around it as long as you are fully committed to your vision. When you are working towards what you love, it's really not work at all because you love what you do. You'll never be great at anything you don't have a passion for, at best, you will be mediocre. When you have passion for something, you will spend hours doing it and you will be energized by it.  When you find those things you really love, pursue them with all your heart. Your passion will be contagious and inspire others to pursue their passions also. The right people will also show up in your life to walk beside you in your endeavors. Living out your authentic vision allows the right people with similar interests to find you. Partnerships are born and there's power in the right partnerships. There is a multiplication factor because of synergy.

Beef farmers are giving pharmaceuticals to cows before slaughter and we all might be in danger if we eat beef

Did you know that many beef farmers are giving their cows pharmaceuticals that cause them to get fat before the slaughter so they can get more pounds per carcass and make more money? The drug. Is called "Zilmax" and our very own FDA approved it. You can bet that some of that drug stays in the meat and ends up on your table and ultimately in your body. Could this be part of the cause of so many metabolism problems or other health issues?  We will probably never know for sure as it's hard to study the effects of low levels of chemicals and the effect they have over time on the human body.  It's FDA approved it so it must be safe right?  Wrong! Think about all the recalls that they originally approved.  I don't know about you but I don't want to be an experiment. Another reason for me to eat vegetarian or vegan.

Check out this link to read more about "Zilmax"

We the people have the power to choose the destiny of our country

We the people have the power to choose the destiny of our country. We as a country, as a people can vote our way into, and out of oppression and tyranny. We have the power to vote unprincipled men and women out of office and vote in honest principled men and women who honor the Constitution.  Let us never forget the morally based laws that our country was founded on and the intent of our forefathers when they set up the four branches of government as a set of "checks and balances" to prevent any one branch from becoming too powerful. Inside every human being is the ability to abuse power and absolute power corrupts. Remember, we the people have the power to protect our own streets. To provide safe communities for our families. We vote to have law enforcement to serve and protect but sometimes there is abuse here. We must not look to government to provide what we can provide for ourselves. This is true for all government.  When government gets too large and intrusive, we lose our individual freedoms.  Freedom does not mean that we can live lives without restraint though. That leads to hurting ourselves and others when we live without moral restraint.  Instead freedom means we have the capacity to decide our own future to a great degree. We can choose to work hard for what we want and become something that we are not. We can rise from the ashes and help others to do so as well. We have a voice and a vote and the power to influence others and join up with others of similar beliefs.  We have the freedom to work together to make not just our community a better place for all but also our state, nation, and world a better place for all humanity. Let us not forget the bigger picture here. When we use our freedom to become the best person that we can, developing our character, it does not just benefit us but also every other human being.  Our lives shout aloud a message for all to hear. The message that our lives speak, is directly connected to our character.  We can choose to be a guidepost or lighthouse to others.  With our lives, we can shine light in the darkness or choose to contribute to the darkness.  You have more power than you think.

Raw eggs are good way to increase your health

I drink 5 raw eggs every morning. I know what you are thinking..Why? and what about "salmonella" right? Well it's actually very rare to find a egg with salmonella. According to the CDC, 1 in 10,000. It's even less likely if you buy quality eggs like range free organic which I do. I believe the benefits outweigh the risk here. When eggs are unheated the proteins are in their natural state, un-denatured by cooking so your body readily absorbs them easily. Great for a workout recovery or recovery from a disease or illness. Eggs aren't just full of protein, (30 grams in 5 eggs), but they are also full of vitamins, minerals, amino acids including choline for the brain and much needed cholesterol. Cholesterol is also needed for the brain and for production of all of our hormones including testosterone. Maybe this is what makes me such a manly man like Rocky (cue "Eye of the Tiger"  "36 Fertilized hen eggs are as effective as anabolic steroids" – Vince Gironda

What if money was no object?

"It's better to have a short life, that is full of what you like doing than a long life spent in a miserable way. And after all, if you do really like what you are doing, it doesn't matter what it is, you can eventually become a master of it. The only way to become a master of something is to be really with it. And then you will be able to get a good fee for whatever it is. But it’s absolutely stupid to spend your time doing things you don’t like, in order to go on spending things you don’t like, doing things you don’t like and to teach our children to follow in the same track."- Alan Watts

Powerful Performance Enhancing Drugs

Plant derived nutrition especially fruits are the best "performance enhancing drugs".  The only side effects are that you will become healthier and begin to feel better. There is nothing more powerful to build athletic performance than plant foods especially fruits.  Fruit contains phyto-chemicals, vitamins, minerals and enzymes.  These nutrients help us get peak performance not just in athletics but in every area of our lives.  They contribute to overall health and energy production.  This means more energy to enjoy your life. More energy to enjoy your family. More energy to devote to work.  You truly are what you eat and high nutrition like what's found in fresh fruit will help your body work better. It will help your body heal, restore and prevent disease as well as it can even help reverse disease.

MTHFR gene mutation, could this be the underlying cause of your illness?

Wow! I just had my genome sequenced through 23 and me. I interpreted the health related results through a site called genetic genie. It turns out that I am heterozygous positive for the MTHFR gene mutation. This means that I have once copy of my gene that is good and one that is mutated. Although this is not the most severe form of a MTHFR mutation, it means that I can only convert about 60 percent of the folate I take in into it's active form.      It also means that I have a problem with converting B12. Having the MTHFR gene mutation is tied to all kinds of diseases including chronic fatigue, depression, bipolar, fibromyalgia, heart disease, cancer, auto immune conditions, miscarriages, and a myriad of other diseases. It affects the body's process called "methylation". Without proper methylation, your body can't make enough "glutathione" which is the bodies number one anti oxidant. This means that the person has trouble removing toxins and stores heavy metals including mercury released from amalgam fillings which I have a lot of. This is setting one up for disease as the person becomes toxic and the body begins to express it's toxicity through different diseases. This may be the answer to my unexplained fatigue and depression/ insomnia issues over the years. If you are tested and find out you have this, it's really pretty simple to remedy. I've read stories where people started using the appropriate supplements and their lives changed. It turns out, since I have it, I have to take a special kind of b12 and folate. It's called methyl b12 and methyl folate. This does the conversion process for your body because it has trouble doing so on it's own. I just started supplementing so I'll have to update you on how it's working for my "chronic fatigue" symptoms. I'm sharing this in hopes that it may help someone else. It turns out that having a MTHFR mutation is more common than you think. Most docs have no idea about it though so many illness are just treated for the symptoms but the root is never addressed being that it's actually this gene mutation that leads to folate and b12 deficiency. Even if your levels show normal in your blood tests, it doesn't mean your body is using the b12 and folate so docs and labs miss this. Also, taking in regular folic acid from fortified foods or vitamins can actually be harmful for someone with this gene mutation because they can't use the folic acid and it builds up. If you have any of the symptoms related to this listed at the link I'm sharing, it may be wise for you to ask your doc for the test or order your gene testing through 23 and me and then interpret your own health data on genetic If you don't yourself have any of these issues but know someone who struggles with one of these related diseases, please share it with them and help get the word out. Who knows, you sharing may be the answer to their health problems and you would most definitely be their hero I'm sure..... God bless you -Rob

P.S. If you are looking to do more research, Here's a great place to start for a more in depth explanation.

Why do you tend to go astray when your best life is found home with your master?

I have a cute little dog named Charlie Tuna. I adopted him from the streets. One day he just showed up in my yard with a dirty red leash attached. I posted flyers around the neighborhood and posted on Craigslist and no one claimed him. When he first showed up, he was so skinny and weak that he couldn't even jump up on the couch. He was malnourished.  I fixed that problem giving him lots of good food and love.  Now he bounces around with tons of energy. Total contrast from how he was before. I'm in love with the little fellow now, he brings me many smiles and much happiness. Even though I spoil him with lots of love and feed him fancy food and treats, if he gets out front, he takes off down the street to go on a doggy adventure.  The problem is that there is danger out there, especially the cars whizzing down the street. I don't want him to get hit by one, get lost, die of hunger, etc. He's got the best life here. He hit the jackpot when he showed up in my yard. Even though he's got a great doggy life here, he's still prone to wander.  I can't help but see the same characteristics in myself. I too love adventure but I too can get myself in trouble when I stray away from my master.  Life is awesome living close with God but my flesh is still prone to wander even though the best life is with God.  I guess this is not just true in my life but all of our lives if you are a Christian. We have two opposing natures. Our spirits are willing to follow God but our flesh desires to rebel.  Even though the best life is found with God we still tend to stray. That is unless we stay surrendered to the Spirit of God daily and meditate on His word. I'm reminded of this verse........

How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your word.  Psalm 119:9

Lord, help us to stay close and surrendered to you and your will. It's truly better with you Lord..........

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked. Psalm 84:10

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms

Are you doing anything special for your mom today?  My mom has been in heaven for quite some time.  My family lost her to cancer when I was 23. Yesterday I asked God to give her a message. To tell her that I love her and miss her. I'm grateful for all that she taught me and how she nurtured and protected me.  I believe the message got through.  I have a book of wisdom quotes. I open up the book every day or so, read a random quote and meditate on how it applies to my life.  Well this morning I opened it up to this quote.  "Ignorance is no excuse for the law."  I then opened up to another random quote on a random page and out of over 5000 quotes, guess what it was?.... "Listen to your mother". I smiled real big and began to think, what do these messages mean?  What are they trying to tell me?   Well the law doesn't just refer to societies laws but also the laws that God set up. The laws of nature and the laws set forth in the bible.  There are health laws, laws of increase, laws that govern relationships, etc.   Wisdom is the knowledge of these laws applied to our lives whether we are aware of them or not.  Ignorance of these laws is no excuse.  We will still pay the price for the seeds we sow if we disobey Gods laws or go against the laws of nature that He set up.  We will also reap the benefits as we learn these laws and apply them to our lives.  The second quote I got that said "listen to your mother" speaks not just what your mother said with her words to you but also her life that she lived or lives before you now.  You can learn from your moms good qualities and also from her failings.  I'm sure pretty much every mom wants what's best for her children, even if she is not capable of always giving it. Sometimes some moms can be so caught up in their own problems that they can't always give what their kids need. After all, moms are imperfect humans too.  All of the good qualities you see in moms and dads are also found in God. God made man and woman in His very own image.  Women reflect some different qualities than men and both genders reflect different good qualities found in God.  I was blessed this morning to get this message from my mom or God or whatever.  It has inspired me even more to live a good life worthy of my mom's and God's approval.  Happy Mother's Day mom, and happy Mother's Day to all the mothers. You may never know in this life, the full extent of all the positive things you've you've done for your children and the world and what legacy of love you will leave behind.

Finding joy through gratitude

You have so much to be grateful for. Count your blessings. You are truly blessed. <3  Choose thoughts of kindness and compassion. Thoughts of hope, faith and love. Thoughts of restoration and healing. Thoughts of health and prosperity.  It takes the same amount of energy to think of these things as it does to think negative thoughts of anger, resentment, fear, etc. so why not choose the noble thoughts? Your emotional state will always follow your thoughts. <3

Finding peace in your storm

I know very much how hard it is to see clearly in the midst of the storm but more often than not, it's not about what happens to us but what happens inside of us. Joy and happiness are many times  in our control but we forget this. It has more to do with our perspective on our circumstances and our thoughts. We need hope for positive change and thank God we can have it. With God all things are possible and with a little bit of faith, our mountains will move. In the bible, Jesus promised that in this world we would have trouble but he also promised that he would deliver us through the trials. Also that we we have enough grace to make it.

Dark meat chicken is healthier

I always thought that the white meat in chicken is healthier. It turns out that dark meat packs a greater nutritional punch. It is rich in taurine, iron, other minerals and B vitamins.  The added fat and cholesterol is actually good for the brain and hormone production. The healthiest ways to cook it is in chicken broth, steam or bake. I'm switching to dark meat.

Just believe

In life, you will have those who encourage you and those that discourage you.  Those that judge you, and write you off, and those who let you be yourself and are fine with that. You will have unconditional love from some and hatred for no apparent reason from others.  You will have those who remove stumbling blocks from your path and those who put them there.  There will be people who give you a chance and a hand up and those who slam the door shut tight and don't believe in you.  This happens to all of us and the more you live out your authentic self and follow your heart, you will run into both these types of people. Those that are for you and those that are against you. We are not just on the receiving end in this but also the giving end.  We too have been the negative voice or stumbling block in someone else's life.  We have also been the one to help another and open doors for them but also the one to shut the door of opportunity. We are all capable of good and evil. Love and hate, etc.  This is all the more reason to be extra careful about how we treat others and to be sure we walk in love and fairness with others.  Only God can truly judge people because only God truly knows the whole story and the person's back story. The only person you truly have to give account for your actions to is God Almighty.  The good news is that God is for you.  Just like everything created by God is made for a purpose, to bear fruit in it's season and prosper, God made you to bear fruit and prosper.  The battle is really over your mind.  What are your going to believe? Who are you going to listen to?  Do you believe the negative voices? Sometimes they may even be your own because of negative programing. Instead, do you choose to believe the voice of God? God's voice is the voice of faith and love. God's voice is the encouraging voice, telling you that.... "you can make it. You can do it. Even if you fall, you can get up and carry on!".......... Lord, today make me a instrument of your divine love to myself and others.  Let me guard my heart and only allow your voice to penetrate.  Let my words be encouraging to myself and others. I choose to believe your voice no matter what the circumstances may be.  I choose to trust you in faith that you have not only made me to prosper but you will be with me through all the hard times and give me your grace to overcome.  AMEN!

Helping others less fortunate than ourselves

This is a picture of Aron, a homeless guy that the Lord led my way and told me to help. I met him coming out of Walmart. He was asking me for money. I didn’t give him any money but stopped and asked him in sincerity,  “how did you end up here, all dirty and on the streets?  He told me he started smoking “spice” and has been doing so for 40 days.  “Spice is a synthetic drug sold in some convenience stores and smoke shops.  It’s sold as potpourri or air freshener to evade the US drug laws. The stores sell it with regard for laws but without regard for how it is hurting people and with only staining more money in mind.   Spice is terrible for the brain and is hurting so many people as it damages their brains and their future potential.  I was talking to Aron, the homeless guy about this and how the Lord can restore him.  Get him back into school, back on his own two feet.  He was receptive and let me talk with him and pray for him.  Two days later I was getting off the bus heading to Canyon Hills church and he just happens to be on the same bus. We meet again and he says he just got out of Mary K Shell mental facility where he was staying overnight and got on this bus and was getting off at the same stop as me. I knew this was no coincidence as God obviously has His hand in this one. He was excited to see me and told me with excitement that he just threw away his “spice” yesterday, dumping it out and that he was quitting.  He wanted a better life for himself and his daughter and this “spice” was making him crazy. Since I was heading to church, I asked him if he wanted to join me and he did.  He was showered with love at church and a gentlemen there with a ministry called “Mission to Home” is now working to get him into the Bakersfield Rescue mission so they can help him get back on his feet.  In this picture, Aron is wearing his new second hand pair of jeans I bought for him from the goodwill before buying him lunch and eating with him so we could talk some more.  His clean shirt in the picture was given to him by someone else who helps the homeless.  Before that he was wearing a dirty worn out shirt and pants.   In the picture, he’s showing his old worn out pants that he wore for 40 days without washing them.  He is so grateful for the help and hopefully soon he will be back on his feet with the help of Louie, Canyon Hills, The bakersfield rescue mission and anyone else God sends his way…...  We all have our own problems and issues but we can always help out another human who is hurting.  Even in the midst of our own struggle, we can still reach out.  I’m thankful to God for this opportunity to help someone less fortunate than myself and I am excited to see what great things God has  in store for Aron.  I shared this story for the purpose only of inspiring others to also do their part in helping others less fortunate than themselves.  It might not be a homeless person, it might be a co-worker of a neighbor.  Be open to who God puts into your life and be open minded about how you can help. Sometimes it’s just a smile and a kind word that really costs you nothing but a small bit of your time.

Update!..........After going to church a few times, he decided to take the next step.  He had already asked Christ into his life.  Yesterday he got baptized.

Leaves emerging, announcing that spring is here. Yay!......That's my crape myrtle tree I planted last year. This will be the second time it blooms in my yard and I'm excited LOL. They are so pretty. I think it's cool how sometimes things in our life may look dead and lifeless for a season like this tree in winter. But seasons change and so do things for us. Nothing is impossible with God. Sometimes it's not God saying no on our dreams, they may be delayed until the right season but they are not denied. Grateful!

God always provides

I saw this older homeless man today that I know. I have talked with him several times. He has shown up a few times and I have felt like God wanted me to buy him food. He was a little drunk on beer. He told me that it might rain later. I asked him where he goes in the rain. He says he finds shelter somewhere like under an over pass. He said to me as he has said before "God always takes care of me." I know exactly what he's talking about and I feel that I'm part of Gods hands reaching out to this man, giving a few dollars so he can buy some food. Or beer. I told him that the money was for whatever he needed. I told him in a concerned voice to take care of himself. Later in the conversation, when I was leaving, he told me the same thing. This man is living his life on the streets and is an alcoholic I'm sure but he knows about God and Jesus and puts his trust in God and says that "God always provides for him. I can relate to this in my life. God has been there for me all my life. I didn't think so much of it though when I was younger. When you are young and strong and haven't been kicked around much yet by the trials life sends. I have especially noticed God's provision in the past few years though as I have been faced with some great challenges. God doesn't promise us that there will be no suffering in fact the bible tells us that we will experience much of it. God doesn't leave us high and dry though, God promises that he will provide for us in our time of need and always be there with us. Why does the universe work the way it does with all this suffering and stuff? I don't know but then again, I'm not as smart as God, and since this universe and everything contained in it is his work of art and not mine, I guess I have to play by His rules and trust Him that He paints his picture with purpose in mind.
