Life is a mystery. It is a great gift to be fully experienced. It is also full of suffering and it seems that some have to endure more than others. If you live long enough, you will experience painful things that can't be explained.
To say that God is fully in control of everything and has a reason for His actions is not accurate. It would be saying that God is responsible for every rape, murder, accident. God set up the rules of the universe such as gravity and we must work within these rules because there are consequences for our actions. Every time someone gets behind the wheel of a car, or on a motorcycle they are taking a risk. Some choices such as riding a motorcycle is more of a risk since there simply is not the forgiveness you can get in a accident since there is no protective car frame around you. It's so important to realize that we are in control of our life, God doesn't control us like puppets or we are not locked in to a destiny just because of our genetics. God wasn't angry with us when He allowed terrible things to happen to us. Bad things or good things happen because someone made a choice. We have a choice to learn to become better, safer, make wiser decisions. Even as we make wise decisions, there will be things that catch us off guard. Accidents sometimes happen but we can minimize our risk through our choices.
Live each day grateful and appreciative for all the people we love and good things in our lives. We never really know how long we have here or when these things will eventually be gone from our life because they eventually will. If it's one thing you can count on in life, it's change. Life is a mystery because we always want things to stay the same, yet life is always changing. We are always slowly losing something we love, but at the same time we are also gaining something we love.
Sometimes we can look so intently at our loss that we miss what we've gained. Don't miss the good things in your life right now in this present moment. This present moment is truly all we really have. Maximize this moment.
