Puppies for sale (inspirational story)

This older farmer put a sign out front "puppies for sale". One day a little boy from across the way walked up to the farmers house, knocked on the door and said "Mister, I want to buy one of your puppies". He reached into his pocket, pulled out some change, held out his hand and said "is this enough?" The farmer counted the change, "thirty nine cents!, this is exactly enough!" Said the farmer. The little boy was excited and the farmer took the little boy to the barn to pick out a puppy. He opened up the pen where the puppies were being kept. Immediately the puppies began to walk out and begin to frolic about. One puppy came out slowly and kind of hobbled and limped, dragging his back legs as if something was wrong with them. The little boy was drawn to this puppy and said "there, that one, I want that one." The farmer concerned said "oh, you don't want that one, he will probably never walk good, something is wrong with him." The little boy reached down and pulled up the legs of his blue jeans revealing metal braces that he was wearing. He said to the farmer "sir this puppy is going to have trouble with his legs and he's going to need someone who understands."

We all have weaknesses, frailties, and issues we deal with. Though hidden, they are there. We all need someone who understands and cares. Someone who loves us as we are and is willing to be there for us.

You can choose love

You know, you can choose love. Anytime, any place, you can choose love. You can choose to have compassion on your neighbor. To choose to see others as yourself, as someone who just wants to be happy, to feel loved and to feel safe. We are not separate. We are all connected. All made out of the same types of molecules, just put together in different order. We all breathe the same air and live on the same life supporting sphere. We all bleed red. We are all the same. To love another is to love yourself. Governments and media may try to get you to see yourself as separate from others, as so different, but we are all the same. Human. It's hard to hate another, when you realize that you are, by doing this, hating yourself. When one is sick, in a sense, we all are sick, because we are all connected. When one does well, in a sense we all do well. We all have someone who reaches out their hand to help us and we have someone that we reach out our hand to help. This is life, and how it is meant to be. Giving and receiving is what life is truly all about. We learn to give, and we learn to receive. We are beautiful, God's creation, magnificent, wonderful. Our time on this earth is God's gift to us. What we do our time is our gift to others and to God. Every moment, thought and action spent on love will never be in vain.
Nothing done in love will ever be wasted.

Looking in the mirror, what do you see?

If you can't look yourself in the mirror and say "I really love you" and mean it to the point of feeling, then this tells you that you have a problem with your self image. Deep down, that might have started in childhood even before you were aware of it. You can change it though by "re-framing" past situations and how you see yourself. You can also re-program the mind by looking in the mirror daily and saying these words "I really love myself, I love who I am and who I am becoming" Even if you don't feel it at first, eventually you will because you are doing a form of "self hypnosis" Eventually your feelings will catch up and this will be true to you. When it is, you will attract people who adore you and more positive things in your life. The key is adoring yourself first....This is wisdom, I hope you take it to heart. I spent most of my life feeling like I was broken from abuse that happened early on and continued into adulthood. I kept attracting more abuse because of my deeply held beliefs about myself. This confirmed to me my belief that I was in some way "inadequate", when all the while I was actually above average in many ways. Gifted in the area of creativity and working with people. I suffered in silence though and no one knew. How do you see yourself? Like a strong, powerful, confident lion? Or a small defenseless little kitty? Like a beautiful swan, or a ugly duckling? When you change your self image and you will change your life. Blessings- Rob

People are like tomato plants

In life there are different seasons just like we see in tomato plants.

Tomato plants start with a seed, they grow taking in all the nutrients from their environment.  They eventually bloom then fruit with seeds contained reproducing themselves.
They then eventually wilt and die.

People are like tomato plants. It's so unfortunate that some plants will never even get to squeeze off a single tomato before dying. Some will only get to create one. Some a few, some many.  Maybe they didn't get the proper growing environment?  When they are hurt and down, maybe no one reached out their hands to help them so they spiraled down, not able to find a way back up.

What makes the difference in whether people bear fruit or not?

A little T.L.C. from the gardner makes all the difference!

Being planted in the right environment, the right amount of water, sunlight and fertilizer. Everyone, just like plants, have a ideal environment to grow in.

You are the gardner, The world is the field and people are tomato plants. Find those in need of your green thumb and share your love with them. What you do does matter. You can make a difference in how much fruit they bear. A little love goes a long way.

The only way to do great work, is to love what you do

Sometimes life is gonna hit you in the head with a brick. Don't lose faith. I'm convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. You've got to find what you love. And that is as true for work, as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work, is to love what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking, and don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking, don't settle. -Steve Jobs Apple Inc.

I love listening to people speak who are doing and have done great things. The ipod changed the world. So did the iphone, etc. I love this speech and I keep what Steve Jobs is saying close to my heart. It's wisdom. It takes risk sometimes to move from the place where you are to the place that you love and want to be. But on the other side of that risk is great reward.

I see so many people that are in the wrong place in regards to their personalities and psychological makeup. Just yesterday we had a waiter that didn't seem so enthusiastic about his job. After talking with him, I discovered that he really didn't like his job and that he wanted to do something else. This just pays the bills. It was obvious that he wasn't happy by his attitude. He was simply in the wrong place to celebrate his natural passions and gifts. Because of this he was going unrewarded for them. I also had to think that although he gets a certain amount of tips because people are nice, I know that he's not getting as much as a enthusiastic happy coworker.

He works twice as hard at what he is doing and gets paid less because he's not in the right career. This is because he is not in the career that truly matches him best.

Find the place that matches you best. Where you have passion for your work. You only live once and only have so much time here on earth. You might as well do what you love.

The true heroes in life

Even if you shared your life story with me, It would be wrong for me to say that I fully understand what challenges you have had in your life. We all have had or will have our own struggles and to each one, only them and God truly know the depths of the struggle. Just this morning I was thinking about who the true heroes are in life. They aren't those who wear capes and move about the city unaware, hidden by the darkness of night. Fighting crime, injustice and saving others from peril. They are the men and women like yourself that secretly struggle, sometimes feel alone and may feel that they don't have enough support. They wonder if they will have the strength to continue on. Yet they somehow find the strength and continue. They continue to do the right thing because it's the right thing even when the wrong things may be happening to them. They learn to be grateful for what they do have and not worry about what they lack. They overcome adversity, sometimes with just enough strength to get them through and little reserve. Because of their chosen attitude towards life and their ability to overcome their adversity, in spite of circumstances, they become a bright guiding light of inspiration to others. A message of hope. Their mess truly becomes their message and they broadcast this message influencing others, giving hope and inspiring others to continue on. These are the true heroes in life. The world is watching you to see what you will do with what you've been given.

Accomplish your goals in spite of adversity. Do something amazing. Even if it only means getting out of bed today to make it to the restroom as you fight illness trying just to stay alive. Even if it only means choking down food even though you are nauseous because of the chemo therapy. Even if it's only as simple as telling your loved ones that you love them.
These things though small are all heroic. When you move forward and accomplish these things in spite of your adversity, you are a true hero.

Thank you for being one of them and inspiring others to be heroes too.

Are you a people pleaser?

Are you a people pleaser? Do you seek others approval and sometimes just go along with what others say because of fear of what others may think about you? Do you just go along with what others say, just so you don't make waves because making waves through disagreement is uncomfortable? As we grow and mature in our thinking, we find their voice, they learn to say what we really think even if others disagree and because of our stance on things, we can become great influencers and in turn world changers. Look at all the great people who have accomplished so much and literally changed the world for the better. They ignored their critics and went forward and did what they wanted to. They lived out their beliefs and convictions. Although I may not know you personally, I want you to know that I believe in you. The question I want to ask you though is, "do you believe in yourself?" Do you believe in yourself enough to disagree with others sometimes even if it may be uncomfortable?" Even if people decide to walk away form you or leave their friendship with you? I have had this happen in my life more than once and sometimes friends return as they expand their mind, change their beliefs, and grow in their own thinking. If you can get to this point, where you don't need others approval of you to be happy then I think you will be much happier and stronger. You will set yourself up for success in all your endeavors and have such an amazing influence on the world around you and inside you.......... Blessings friend

Is someone judging you?

Some people will always judge you for something. If you are rich they will judge you. If you are poor they will judge you. Too fat, too skinny. You speak too much or you speak too little. Someone will always judge you for something. On the other hand, someone will always celebrate you for the person you truly are. Your authentic self.

Don't be afraid to show the real you to the world. Only then can the right people who will celebrate the real you, find you. Only then can you develop deep authentic friendships and a true support system.

Think of anyone who has ever done anything great. They've always had critics. If they spent all their time answering their critics they wouldn't have time to accomplish the great things that they are doing. They are focused on the task at hand and not on what others think about their goals. They work quietly and diligently towards those goals until eventually they succeed and others see the fruit of their labor. They simply have learned the secret to "not needing others approval" It's nice when someone appreciates and celebrates us, but what counts the most is how much we appreciate and celebrate ourselves.

So ya got a big heart huh?

So ya got a big heart huh? Some would like you to believe that it's a weakness. Well they are absolutely wrong. You have a sensitive heart for a reason and you came into this world perfectly equipped for the problems you are supposed to fix. You are perfectly designed and your big heart reveals to you the areas you are supposed to heal.

Guard your heart my friend. Don't just trust it to anyone. Not everyone qualifies to speak to that deepest part of you. Not everyone should be allowed that access because what goes into the heart will eventually come out.

It's our responsibility to know when to lock the door though and when to open it. Wisdom helps us discern this.

Guard your sensitivity because you can sense things that others can't sense and feel things that others can't feel. You can see things that others can't see and because of your sensitivity, you experience pain deeper. But this this is actually a gift because it gives you great compassion and empathy for others which makes people want to confide in you. You are a safe place for others and this is a rare and precious thing. Recognize this in yourself and celebrate it.

The right people will be drawn to you because of your kindness. The wrong people may think that they can use or control you, but you will see through it and rise above it.

Think about all the great people in history who changed the world for the better. They all had a passion for making the world a better place. They used their empathy, compassion and developed an intolerance to a problem. Maybe a social issue like poverty, disease or racism.

Their desire to see change motivated them to rise up and make a difference.

Well these people are just like you. Sensitive hearted people who realized their sensitivity and compassion for others was there for a reason. It birthed a passion to make a change. They stepped out in faith and made a difference. Go change the world my sensitive hearted friend. Change the world starting with one person at a time because you and I know that everyone counts.

Your mouth is either harming you or helping you

I was thinking today about the power of our words. With our words we have the power to heal or to hurt. To build or to destroy. To bring life or to bring death. Wars start with words. Wars also end with words.

If I could only share one thing that would help you so greatly it would be to consider your words. I mean really consider them. What are you saying to others and yourself? You may not have realized it but you are reaping a harvest with your words. Consider the words you are sowing into the lives of others, what are you reaping from them? If you don't like the harvest that you are getting, then change the seed. Are you talking down to others with a condescending attitude? Or are you speaking with honor and appreciation for others. Speaking words that celebrate others difference rather than belittle it.

What are you saying to yourself about yourself? What are you saying to others? When you speak to yourself are you kind? When you speak to yourself, do you use words that build, encourage and help? What about others? Are your words positive or negative when you speak to them?

I heard someone say that every man has a king and a kid in them. If you speak to the kid, the kid will answer back. If you speak to the king, the king will answer back.

When he said this he went on to elaborate. What he meant by this was that if you speak to the greatness in an individual, that greatness will show it's self and answer back. Or if you speak to the immature, irresponsible kid, he will show himself and answer back.

Some people go through their days thinking that the world is a harsh place. That people aren't trustworthy and maybe even that people are out to take from them. Well to those people, their thoughts have imprisoned them and this becomes their reality. Because of this faulty unrealistic belief, what they don't realize is that they have formed an attitude towards others and are projecting out this attitude, even though they don't realize it. People sense this and because most people are actually honest, when they don't feel trusted, they don't feel honored. When people don't feel honored by you, they move away from you. People are less likely to help you if they don't feel you honor them and we all will need the help of others sometime.

All people want to be trusted and feel honor and respect. It's true that some people may not have developed their character enough yet to the point where honesty is of utmost importance, but those people are still usually more honest than not. The person who doesn't believe in others tends to develop more shallow relationships with others which in turn, can set them up to be taken advantage of by those who lack honesty in their character. It's a lot harder to turn on a friend than someone that they feel dishonors them. So in a sense, their negative beliefs about others become a self fulfilling prophecy.

Your words are either creating friends or pushing people away. Your words are either calling out the goodness in others or bringing out the worst. I see the law of sowing and reaping so greatly at work here. It's almost an instant harvest when you plant your words like seeds. For example, just walk into a bar, walk up to someone and refer to them in a negative dishonoring way. You will probably end up with a black eye and a bloody nose. Instant harvest on your words. Try instead walking in to work, finding that co-worker that you don't particularly care for and tell them in sincerity "hey, I just want you to know that I appreciate what you do here, this company is stronger and better because of what you do" It's important that it's said in sincerity though because people are perceptive and your body language will tell on you if it's not. Watch what happens when you say words like these. Watch the king or queen in the other person answer you back. Watch what used to be a person that you didn't care for become one of your favorite people you look forward to seeing everyday.

Words are very powerful! Good relationships are of vital importance and required not only to succeed but for your emotional well being. Your words are directly connected to the quality of your relationships so become a master at using them wisely and reap the rewards in every area of your life.

If you must use salt, which is the best?

I wanted to share something I learned with you about salt and the best kind to use and why it's healthier.
So let's discuss sea salt....I personally use Celtic sea salt. It's grey in color because of the trace minerals contained. You body needs trace minerals for every cell to function properly. In this day an age with mass farming using synthetic fertilizers instead of letting the soil rest, our vegetables have a lower mineral content than they used to. This is one of the reasons to buy organic if or when you can. Even organic vegetables and fruits might be low in minerals though unless the organic farmer is taking steps to prevent this like putting wood ash or rock dust back into the soil. Of course, this costs more so many organic farmers do not do this. What's the solution to insure you get your vital minerals? One solution is to us unrefined sea salt like the Celtic or Himalayan. Now the drawback to regular table salt is that it has no minerals and it's higher in sodium than sea salt so everyone should be using sea salt but it's wise to spend the extra money and use the unprocessed.

They have different varieties of gourmet sea salts available. All in different colors from black (volcanic) to pink(himalayan) to red (Hawaiian) All contain different types and amounts of minerals. One simple positive change you can make for your health is to simply switch over to using one of these salts mentioned above and quit using regular table salt. You can purchase sea salt online or at your local health food store.

Little changes to one's daily routine can mean huge differences over time in a person's health and wellbeing.  Blessings -Rob

Raw food vegananism and vegetarianism is becomng more mainstream because it just makes good sense

We all know that vegetables and fruits are good for us. We all have heard that in order to be healthy, we need to include more of these into our diets right? Well how come the obiesity epidemic is still growing in America? How come 25.8 million children and adults in the United States—8.3% of the population—have diabetes and every 34 seconds someone in the United States dies of heart disease? Obviously what they are telling us is not working. Why is it not working? Maybe because it's not just about including foods in our diets, but excluding foods as well. Type 2 diabetes is completely preventable and reversible through diet as is heart disease. Now from what I have heard from Dr. Joel Fuhrman is that if disease has progressed too far then diet may not be able to fix someone completely but it sure can help them manage their disease better and help them live a happier healthier life. Dr. Joel Fuhrman recommends a plant based diet and their are so many reasons for this. Our western diet is what is fueling disease and creating our health problems. In many countries where they grow and eat their own food they are not experiencing the same negative health issues as Americans. Vegetables, cooked and uncooked are full of nutrients that give the body the tools it needs to do what it's made to do, heal and restore. Raw uncooked vegetables and fruits are full of health promoting phytochemicals, anti-oxidants, live enzymes along with highly bio-available vitamins, minerals and fiber to help remove toxins. Meat and animal products on the other hand is low in nutrients, contain high calorie bad artery clogging fats and can even contain toxins in the fat that lead to cancer. These are the reasons that I and many others are switching to a raw food/vegetarian lifestyle. Dr. Joel Fuhrman seems to have the right kind of idea as he has coined the term "nutritarian". It's all about getting the most nutrient per calorie in your foods and if you eat this way, it is clearly the healthiest way. He talks about how many people who call themselves vegetarians because they just don't eat meat can be just as unhealthy as meat eaters because they can still be consuming low nutrient, high calorie foods like meat, breads, sweets, dairy products and other processed white flour products. Their diet is deficient of vital nutrients found in plant foods especially raw plant foods.

I believe that the raw food vegan/vegetarian/nutritarian lifestyle is going to become more and more mainstream for the reasons mentioned above. People are waking up, realizing that they can't trust everything that the media and health care system has told them. You can't just eat anything and then take a pill to fix it. Prescription drugs are not healing disease, only managing it and many times causing more disease due to the toxic state they put our bodies in. And what about lifestyle? So maybe we take a drug to manage our blood pressure or depression but it causes all these horrid side effects. Is this really leading us to the happy healthy lifestyle we want? The lifestyle full of energy and vitality? Drugs are clearly not the answer to our health concerns, but are just a temporary band-aid to mask our symptoms. Prevention through diet is the best alternative.

Have you noticed that one minute the media is telling us that something is good for us then later on they are telling us it's bad. I think this is probably because many studies are funded by certain industries that know they would be hurt financially if people understood the truth about their food product. Milk is good, then it's bad. Coffee is good, then it's bad. Wine is good then it's bad. In this day and age how do we know what to believe in regards to good and bad foods?

It's really pretty simple actually if you think about it. Everything on the earth has a designed system at work. Everything an ecosystem that works in harmony with the earth. Food is provided for all living creatures. If you study nature, you will find the answers to which diet is best for us.

It just makes sense that the Creator knew what they were doing when they provided food for us cleverly packaged in bright colors, textures, appealing to the eye, nose and mouth in the form of vegetables and fruits. Edible nuts and seeds, high nutrient berries to feed our bodies mind and promote overall health and well being. Raw plant foods are clearly designed to be the best foods for our health.

There are many people who's passion is for helping heal people and our planet. They are rising up to help teach others the importance of raw food vegan, vegetarian style eating and living. They are teaching and living the raw food lifestyle and are really on the cutting edge of medicine. I believe that they are going to benefit greatly from this coming movement as people become more aware of the importance of feeding your body living foods and the downside to eating meat, dairy products and other refined low nutrient foods.

Hippocrates was right when he said "let food be thy medicine"

Genius Albert Einstein said..“Nothing will benefit human health and increase the chances for survival of life on Earth as much as the evolution to a vegetarian diet.”

This is the reason I am adopting this raw food, whole plant based diet and lifestyle.

Blessings -Rob

Our global footprint

Someone said "People will only remember you for either the problems you created or the problems you solved."

I've been doing a lot of thinking lately about my "footprint" on the planet. Thinking about how my actions create not just my future, but since we are all connected in a way, the future of others on the planet.

I decided this year to grow tomatoes in the one area in my backyard where it gets sun. Earlier in the year, I had sprayed pesticide for bugs as I do every year on the concrete right next to where I am now growing my delicious tomatoes. It never used to bother me that I was spraying pesticide each year on the outside of my house because although they say it gets in the soil, since I wasn't eating from the soil, it didn't matter. Now I'm beginning to contemplate the consequences of my actions as I eat my delicious home grown tomatoes. Are there toxins in there that I put there that I can't see taste or perceive? I'm not just thinking about the consequences directly affecting me in my lifetime, but how is what I'm doing affecting others even as I am long gone. My daughters generation and beyond, what am I leaving them? Even on a global scale, what happens to our underground water supply as everyone sprays? How do my actions, even though perceived small affect the planet on a global scale?

I'm not just applying this kind of thinking to my decisions about whether or not to spray pesticides or whether or not to recycle. You can apply it to everything you say or do.

When you drop a pebble in a pond, it ripples out and even though you eventually can't see the ripples, the wave continues on. What if we viewed our thoughts, words and actions like this pebble? That everything we think, say and do has an influence that ripples out not just to our immediate surroundings but continues on affecting not just our planet but ultimately our universe.

I understand that no human will ever make perfect decisions 100 percent of the time, but I really like the quote I mentioned earlier because it makes you think about your actions and their implications. Not only on yourself but on the global community that we live in.

Never before in history has it been so easy to spread ideas. The internet and social media has made a huge planet where everyone is separate into a very small interconnected global community. We've always been connected but we just haven't always perceived it.

What if we were to look at the earth and universe like a human body? A complex set of systems working synergistically together with the goal of life and survival? What if we were to see ourselves not as disconnected, but as part of this system?

Just as the rate of a human bodies metabolism regulates the rate of which our cells function it seems that technology is ushering in a new era in which the earths metabolism is speeding up. Ideas flow more freely because the internet allows everyone to have a voice, and magnifies the realm of influence of that voice.

Social media and the internet is in a sense removing the veil and magnifying the truth of what we really are, and what we are becoming as a species.

We've always been connected but we just haven't always realized it as much as we do now. Our connections have not only been there, but they are growing stronger each day as technology continues to unite us. Media is not only one way because we now can voice our opinions on Twitter, Facebook and other social media sites. This is allowing us to connect and unite with others of the same beliefs, passions and interests.

With this new understanding, I'm in awe of my own personal responsibility in what I say and do. To contemplate what problems I am solving or what problems I am creating while here on earth. I I am now more than ever, compelled to live in harmony with the surrounding community, global community, earth and universe. I greatly sense my connectedness and I am compelled to view others, kinda like a part of myself. Even those who I might disagree. Even those who are suffering or sick. If they are suffering and sick, in a sense, I am suffering and sick. Those who are rich and those who are poor. Every culture, tongue and tribe is connected to me and in a sense, part of me.

I want to become more of a problem solver. I want to leave behind a positive legacy of helping contribute to the welfare of humankind and every living thing on the earth as well as the universe.

Now I'm not saying that we should walk on eggshells carefully dissecting and analysing every decision we make. That would lead to paralysis of analysis. I am saying maybe we should be more diligent in considering our impact though. Be more diligent in considering our footprint.

"Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty." -
Albert Einstein

Can we eat to starve cancer?

Almost everyone has been touched somehow by cancer. Either themselves, their family or someone they know has had to fight this terrible disease, many times losing the war. My mom actually died of cancer so this topic is close to my heart. The trick to treating cancer is early detection but it's much better to even prevent it. Did you know that diet accounts for 30-35% of environment to cause cancers? We all have cancer cells in our bodies but what we eat has a great effect on whether or not they actually turn into tumors. You really can eat to prevent cancer. Watch this amazing video below and be inspired to be proactive against the fight by choosing the right cancer fighting foods. Blessings -Rob

The four stages of learning any new skill

In 1940, Famous psychiatrist Abraham Maslow described the model for how human beings acquire any new skill.

The Four Stages of Learning provides a model for learning. It suggests that individuals are initially unaware of how little they know, or unconscious of their incompetence. As they recognise their incompetence, they consciously acquire a skill, then consciously use that skill. Eventually, the skill can be done without consciously being thought through, and the individual is said to have unconscious competence.

The Four Stages

  1. Unconscious Incompetence
The individual does not understand or know how to do something and does not necessarily recognize the deficit. They may deny the usefulness of the skill. The individual must recognise their own incompetence, and the value of the new skill, before moving on to the next stage. The length of time an individual spends in this stage depends on the strength of the stimulus to learn.
  2. Conscious Incompetence
Though the individual does not understand or know how to do something, he or she does recognize the deficit, as well as the value of a new skill in addressing the deficit. The making of mistakes can be integral to the learning process at this stage.
  3. Conscious Competence
The individual understands or knows how to do something. However, demonstrating the skill or knowledge requires concentration. It may be broken down into steps, and there is heavy conscious involvement in executing the new skill.
  4. Unconscious Competence
The individual has had so much practice with a skill that it has become "second nature" and can be performed easily. As a result, the skill can be performed while executing another task. The individual may be able to teach it to others, depending upon how and when it was learned.
The difference in what seems easy to you and what seems hard is simply one word. "practice"

Feel the fear and do it anyway

Sometimes when we are faced with doing something that is new for us, it may seem hard or leave us feeling anxious. It's usually only a lot harder in our own minds though, as we battle our own fears. The fact is that the more we do something, the easier it will get for us. This is called "practice".

If you want to know more about how one becomes competent in something and the learning process, read my blog entitled
"The four stages to learning any new skill"

The trick to overcoming fear is to practice the habit of "feeling the fear but doing it anyway" All the greatest rewards in life will require courage. They will require you to step out in faith and put yourself in an uncomfortable situation. Because we want the spoils and rewards, we must learn to push past our natural instincts to "play it safe" There's a saying, you may have heard it. "don't be afraid to go out on a limb, that's where the fruit is." Start with small things. Take small steps and celebrate your victories. These small steps are your way of practicing the habit of "overcoming fear". Pretty soon you will be excited to embrace the unknown and will be looking for opportunities to step out in faith. ..... Let your thoughts and words about yourself and others be positive.

Why do men stand in awe at the of the stars, the moon, the immensity of the sea, the beauty of a flower or a sunset and at the same time downgrade themselves or others? Did not the same creator make us? Is not the human being the most marvelous creation of all? This appreciation of your own worth, is not egotism, unless you assume that you made yourself and should take some of the credit. If you aren't where you would like to be, don't downgrade the product, merely because you haven't used it correctly. Your self worth does not come from your actions good or bad. Your value does not come from what you do or have, your income or anything else like that. Begin to recognize the great value of yourself and all human beings because we are all children of God and have intrinsic great value. Keeping this mindset doesn't put you above or below anyone but right beside them. You can walk beside them realizing that you have more in common than not. You will have more of a ability to connect with others even though they are different than you. Even though they make different choices in their lives than you would make. Maybe they are making bad choices right now but them and God are not finished writing their story. They may be on chapter 10 and there is twenty five chapters in the book. When you keep in mind that everyone including your self is of great value, you will begin to celebrate yourself and others. You will not be able to help but smile when you see someone you don't know. You will be a magnet for people because people are always drawn towards love and acceptance. Always drawn towards someone that appreciates them. You will not be able to judge or criticize others or yourself as long as you are standing in awe and appreciation of the creation that stands before you. Even the one that stands before you in the mirror. As you keep this in mind about yourself and others you will be happier and motivated to grow and make better choices. Human beings are always more productive when they are happier and filled with love for themselves and others.. Again, this is just another way to draw more abundance and success into your life. Your mind runs on a track

Your mind runs on a track. You have a habitual way of thinking. This has been learned and adopted from all the input we have received in our life. Running on this track is comfortable for us because it's what we know. It's how we've learned to navigate in this world. If you study successful achievers, one thing you will notice is their positive "can do" attitude. Many times they are successful not because they are so much more gifted than others, but because they have developed a success mindset. Their mind runs on a learned habitual success track. They automatically approach new challenges with confidence and positive self expectancy. They expect to win and usually do. This is just one of many positive mental habits they have developed. Another positive habit would be how they don't procrastinate because they have developed a positive mental habit of "do it now". This successful mental habit puts them closer to achieving their goals in many ways. One is that it helps them be more productive because they don't have to deal with all the guilt or other negative feelings associated with "procrastination" It keeps them feeling happier, more accomplished which in turn, leads to more confidence and success and ultimately happiness. So since your mind runs on a track the question is, "what track is it running on?" Is this track really going to get you to your goals? Is it a success track or is it dooming you to failure? Successful people are careful of what kind of mental habits they develop. They are careful on what they allow into their minds and what thoughts they dwell on. Careful about what kind of track they allow their minds to go on. You mind can carry you to victory, overcoming the temptation to give up or it can carry you to defeat causing you to give up too early. It all depends on the track that it runs on. Large beer corporations spend millions of dollars each year on commercials that show healthy, happy people having fun while drinking their beer. A man standing with beautiful ladies all around him at a party. It's a party and who doesn't want a party right? What is the message they are trying to program into you?......"If you drink our beer it's a party and you will be happy, healthy and surrounded by happy people and beautiful people." If you think about it, in reality, those who drink lots of beer end up getting fat, sick, aging prematurely and a host of other problems are attached. I personally am real careful about what I allow into my mind. I want to stay on the right track and so many times in the past have tasted the consequences of letting it my mind get off track. An example of how one can guard their mind would be to be very aware of the lyrics in music and the TV programs/films that they allow themselves to watch. Not everything should qualify for your standards. They should ask themself, "what kind of message is this trying to send me?" Even if someone says that theyy don't listen to the lyrics just the music, it's proven that it still has an effect on your subconscious mind which in turn has to have an effect on your behavior. That's why corporations spend millions of dollars each year on advertising. They are trying to influence you by programing your subconscious mind to their advantage. They know that what goes in your mind will eventually come out in your actions as you desire then purchase their product. One should also very aware of what thoughts they entertain. Not every thought we have should qualify and if it's negative and self defeating, it should be dismissed. It should be replaced with positive self coaching words. Telling yourself how and what to think. How and what to think about yourself, your circumstances and others in the world around you.

Successful people do whatever it takes to keep their mind on the right success track because they know that this leads them to the success that they are looking for. It helps them reach their personal and business goals. I personally don't want to listen to anything or watch anything on TV or films that could get me off track. There's an old saying and I'm sure you've heard it. "garbage in, garbage out" Filling your mind with negative input can only lead to negative thinking and followed by negative behavior. On the other hand, filling your mind with positive things like success oriented information like my blog could only help you stay on your success track as it encourages and empowers you. Choose which sources of information to tune into and protect your focus. Choose who and what to listen to. Not everything or everyone qualifies for your ear. Keep your mind on the right track. Keep your mind on the success track. :D

Most battles one will fight are in secret

In life, most battles one will fight are in secret. There is no coach there to encourage you. There is no crowd there to cheer you on. The greatest battles you will fight in life will be just you alone. Wrestling with your own mind. Fighting to overcome temptation. The battle is over your focus because what you focus on creates your feelings and your energy. Either positive or negative. Don't listen to every thought you have, if it doesn't line up with your values and goals, dismiss it, replace it. Tell yourself how to think. Decide what kind of day, week and year you will have. Write down goals. Talk about them. Emotionalize them. Choose your focus and receive the reward for good character, which is success. Character is developed one small decision at a time. What you do and who you are in your private life, will ultimately be seen in your public life. What you do and who you are in your private life all starts in your mind. Success or failure can be traced back to your chosen focus.

I will do my part, the rest is up to God

This whole notion and idea of "letting God take over our lives" doesn't make sense to me. I mean, didn't God give us a mind to think, and a body to use? I don't think God has all these rules and methods to get close to Him/her. I say Him/Her because God is actually a Spirit. Anyways, I think whether someone acknowledges God or not, God is there active in their lives. Ask anyone on the street if they have ever seen evidence of a God working in their lives. Most will say yes. Even those who aren't Christian or any other religion will say this. I think a life can be summed up in this word. "co-creation" We co-create our lives with God. I think we choose what we want, learn how to get there, move forward in faith, doing all we can and then God does what we can't. It's like the man in the sailboat in the middle of the ocean who decides on and sets his course. He puts up his sail and waits for the wind. His part, the course setting and putting up the sail in faith. God's part is bringing the wind. I think too many Christians are paralyzed by wrong religious beliefs they have been taught. They are stuck waiting on God to change things in their life. They passively pray, awaiting from heaven for an answer. Instead if they would study their problem and attain wisdom about it and then use it, they could then overcome many of their problems. The belief that God is in control of our lives brings us comfort emotionally but it doesn't change things. If we don't like where we are, we have to change how we think and then our actions will follow which in turn will yield us a different result. You don't need one three or five confirmations from God on something. Use your mind, you are amazing created by they very hand of God and in tune with God. When you trust the wisdom that created you, you will trust yourself to know what the best decisions are for your life. Whatever it is that you don't know how to do, you will discover.

Try this for 30 days and see if it doesn't change your life

Humans are governed by our thoughts but not just our conscious thoughts. Much of what we do, feel and think comes from our subconscious mind. The way we see our world is so greatly affected by this. Our perspective on our reality really is more important than our reality. Our deepest held beliefs, about ourselves and others affect everything we do. Our deepest ingrained habits, good or bad also affect our lives so greatly. When you decide to pick up a pencil, you consciously decide to do it, but you don't consciously decide to flex each muscle in order as you reach for it. You decide the goal consciously and your subconscious mind does the rest. Most everything we do is greatly affected by the influence that our subconscious mind has on us. If we have problems with our behavior, we simply have wrong patterns of thinking or bad habits in our subconscious mind. We continue to automaticlly act and think in negative patterns which can hold us back from what we really want. The following exercise is influenced by the book "the new, psycho cybernetics" By Maxwell Maltz It is a way to retrain your subconscious mind with conscious effort over 30 day. A way to develop a more positive outlook by reprogramming your subconscious mental habits.

Start this tomorrow morning. Read out loud to yourself and try to emotionalize each of these self affirmations by visualizing yourself doing and already having attained these new ways of thinking. You can even read them again at lunch or several times but it's important to do this at the same time everyday. It helps with forming the habit. As you do this and begin to think this new way, you will be amazed at what begins to happen in your life.

As you start your day say "I'm beginning the day in a new and better way"

Then consciously decide that throughout the day

1. I will be as cheerful as possible.

2. I will act a little more friendly toward other people.

3. I will be a little less critical and I will be more tolerant towards other people their faults, failings and mistakes. I will place the best possible interpretation on their actions.

4.In so far as possible, I'm going to act as if success were inevitable and I already am the sort of personality I want to be. I will practice acting like and feeling like this new personality.

5.I will not let my own opinion color facts in a pessimistic or negative way

6.I will practice smiling at least 3 times during the day.

7.Regardless of what happens, I will react as calmly and intelligently as possible.

8.I will ignore completely and close my mind to all those pessimistic and negative facts that I can do nothing to change.

Simple? yes, but each of these habitual ways of acting, feeling and thinking has beneficial and constructive influence on your self image. Act them out for 30 days, experience them and see if worry, guilt, hostility has not been diminished, and if confidence has not been increased.

Green smoothie, Ten minutes a day that can change your life in an amazing way

Right now as I'm writing this, I'm drinking a green smoothie with pear, strawberry, banana, red grapes, collard greens, arugula, spinach, spirulina algae powder, ground raw sunflower seeds, agave syrup. Heavy on the green leafy vegetables. I just threw it in the blender with ice. It's delish! I get about 4 glasses out of one blender full and drink them throughout my morning. It's so yummy! These super high nutrient raw plant foods are energy rich and life giving! Healing the body with phytochemicals, enzymes, vitamins, minerals and fiber to cleanse the digestive tract.

I use a coffee grinder to grind my raw pumpkin, sunflower, flax seeds. When you grind them in increases digestion of them. Good fats help increase the absorption of all the nutrients.

This all started when I went to see the "green smoothie girl" speak at Lassen's last week. She spoke about ten minutes a day that can change your life. I liked what she said and it went along with my goal for vibrant health so I decided to create the habit. This is day 4 and I'm loving the effects. I have more energy and feel great. When you eat raw plant foods a lot of great things happen. This is because the live enzymes, phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals contained. When you chew greens such as collards, spinach etc much of the healing properties are released. When you blend them, it's like chewing, breaking up the cell walls and releasing the nutrients, making it easy to digest and for your body to use. My goal is 1 blender full, about 3-4 glasses. Leafy greens are the highest nutrient lowest calorie foods. Green smoothing girl did a study, giving green smoothies to people and here are some benefits of drinking a daily green smoothie. 95% of people noticed improvement in health/quality of life, 84% are so enthusiastic about it that they share it with others, 85% received more energy, 54% more positive, stable mood, 98.5% better digestion, 50% improvement in skin tone, 65% fewer cravings for sweets, 50% weight loss (average of 18.25 lbs) After hearing these results, I was like "I WANT SOME OF THAT!" I have already been eating more raw foods, this is another step in that direction. It takes 20 to 30 days to create a new habit. Our daily habits are either carrying us toward our goals for the life we want or away. I'm committed to create this habit. There is absolutely no logical reason why I shouldn't.

Update: It's day 19 and I've drank almost a blender full of green smoothie daily. I'm feeling so much better and lost a bunch of weight quickly. Because of the high nutrient foods and high fiber, I don't get hungry. Most evenings, I am eating a plate of vegetables with olive oil, fresh crushed garlic and feta, but have also had some meat and very little bread. During this time I have also stepped up my workout routine. I'm still excited about green smoothies because I know that they are energizing and healing my body.

****** Update August 7, 2013

So you want to start drinking green smoothies but don't have a lot to spend on a blender?  Well this is your lucky day. :)  Check out my new blog on how you can get a great blender for only $60.00 dollars.

Your words are like seeds, it is wise to plant them carefully

Your words are like seeds, it is wise to plant them carefully. Your words are seeds planted into the garden of those around you. If you don't like the harvest you are receiving and want something different, you must change the seed you are sowing. Your words come from your thoughts, so I have to ask you a question. What have you been thinking about others? Are you judging them in your thoughts? Do you think of them as lower in some way than yourself? Do you view them from the side of their strengths or from the side of their weaknesses? How you think about others will determine your attitude towards them and your words will follow your attitude. Your attitude toward them determines their attitude towards you. If you are thinking positive things about others and looking for the good in them, your words will reflect this. When you honor, value and respect others through your words, you will be amazed at the harvest of honor, value and respect you will receive back from them. People's actions and attitude toward you usually are just a mirror of what you are giving them. Your seeds are harvesting right before you everyday as you speak to them. We have a tendency to think that it's always the other persons issues that cause problems in a relationship and that we have no part in the cause. In fact we do. With our words we can build, heal, help, bring hope to, motivate, strengthen, encourage, bring peace to and inspire people. With our words we can also destroy, anger, tear down, discourage, bring fear to, hurt and impede someone's progress. When others feel good and strong in our presence, they will feel better and do better. They will also be more inclined to help us get what we want. We will actually reap this harvest as they do well. As they do well, we will do better. Next time you don't like the harvest you are getting from a relationship, carefully consider your words. What are you planting into their garden?

reprogamming your mental computer for success

In regards to success, it's not as much about what one's limitations are as it is about one's deepest core beliefs about oneself. We always act in accordance to our deepest held beliefs about ourselves. If you want to achieve a goal like losing weight or quitting smoking, find the root beliefs that are holding you back then make a determined effort to change them. You do this by choosing to believe the reverse, then reprogramming your subconscious mind through new vividly imagined pictures of your desired belief. You can say affirmations aloud daily as you visualize your new beliefs to help this process. It's not about trying to believe something that you are not, that would make you a fake. It's about seeing your true potential clearly and flushing out your erroneous limiting beliefs about yourself that you have been holding on to and have been holding you back. Then choosing to believe the new positive beliefs about yourself. Change the beliefs and your behavior will follow.

An example of a limiting belief could be as simple as "I'm messy" or "I'm not as capable as others". Even something like "I can't reach my goals because of a limitation or lack of resources" It's true that we do have real limitations but it is also true that more often than not, most people operate far below their true potential and their real limitations pale in comparison to their true potential. We sometimes see ourselves as less capable in some way or another but many times, this is because we have compared ourselves with others. Don't do this. You are not competing with others but only with yourself. When someone compares themselves to others, they will always find someone more capable in some area than they are, but they can also find someone less capable. When you compare yourself with others, your feelings about yourself can fluctuate as your focus changes. It's not about comparing yourself to or competing with others, it's about seeing yourself in the positive light of "the miracle" of which you truly are. As it has been seen proven over and over, human potential is far greater then many have believed or perceived. Many have been astounded as great accomplishments have been made by many people and former perceived limitations been overcome.

Real miracles happen when?

Real miracles can happen in our lives when we have a perspective change. When we are honest with ourselves, read books, learn, grow and attain more wisdom. Real magic happens when we gain knowledge and understanding which changes our perception on our lives and the world around us. There are places in Africa in the past where many in the village were sick and dying. They thought the God's were mad at them so they would do all kinds of rituals and sacrifice's to try and get them to stop the death of those in the village. Then along come scientists. They discover that the village water supply is the same source that is mixing with the village sewage. This was making people sick with Cholera as they were drinking the contaminated water. The scientists taught them about this and the people were no longer were sick and dying. They were healed just like magic. The magic was wisdom and knowledge. The rich are usually rich because of something they know. The poor is usually poor because of something they don't know. Many times, the sick are sick because of something they don't know. It's true we don't have all the answers about every sickness and how to cure it, but many things that would have killed us in the past are cured or managed today due to medical science. My point....... again, real magic and miracles happen as we get a perspective change. This is done through attaining wisdom and knowledge. Real miracles happen in our life when we discover that we are more than we thought. That we can do more than we thought. When we realize our potential and then become all we are able to become. Blessings -Rob

Baby you're a firework! Katy Perry Firework Video

Baby you're a firework! Come on let your colors burst!

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag,
Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper-thin
Like a house of cards, one blow from caving in?

Do you ever feel already buried deep?
Six feet under screams, but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there's still a chance for you?
'Cause there's a spark in you

You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the Fourth of July

'Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make 'em go "oh, oh, oh!",
You're gonna leave 'em falling down oh oh

You don't have to feel like a waste of space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane, comes a rainbow

Maybe the reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
Like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it's time you know

You just gotta ignite the light, and let it shine
Just own the night like the Fourth of July

'Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make 'em go "oh, oh, oh!"
You're gonna leave 'em falling down oh oh

Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
It's always been inside of you, you, you
And now it's time you let it through-ooh-ooh

'Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go "oh, oh, oh!"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Baby, you're a firework
Come on, let your colors burst
Make 'em go "oh, oh, oh!"
You're gonna leave 'em falling down oh oh

Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
Boom, boom, boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon, moon
